snow!

snow came a little early this year. we have had some flurries already and it isn't unusual to get a inch or two before thanksgiving, but we had around 6 inches today! madelyn cried when she learned that it wasn't a "snow day" from school because the boys would get to play in the snow and she wouldn't. i informed her that the boys had school too and then we were running errands. they weren't going to get much time to play today. it was just cold enough to have a nice wet snow that stuck to everything and was fun to play in.

we did not really get around to trying on snow boots this year and mason was left without boots because madelyn wore the only pair that might fit him to school herself. so i laced on matt's! he thought it was pretty funny, but it made it so that he could play in the snow so he didn't complain at all.

 the boys did a little sledding and snow ball throwing for a while before madelyn came home (manning was having a difficult day and since he refuses to even wear a coat, was not allowed to come out and play in the snow.)

the temperature was starting to drop and the wind was picking up so we went in for some hot chocolate. when madelyn got home we went back out for a little bit though. it was really getting cold with the sun going down but i still had to drag her in from the biting wind.

madelyn asked mason to burry her in the snow. 

pure joy.

i had to insist that they come in. the wind was gusting and it was very uncomfortable to be outside any more - at least for me who was standing outside to watch while still checking in on the two inside. let it snow! love.
