spring stage performance

madelyn's day just keeps on going! now she is giving her final stage acting performance. this girl loves the stage! (and a day that is all about her.)

look at this face!

this was not our favorite performance. i am not sure if it was just a young class or what, but several of the kids didn't know their lines, the ones that did were almost impossible to understand and the play was in several parts between the dances which made it difficult to follow. we had no idea what was going on and will have to read her script later to figure it out. here is just a small sampling:

even the dancers weren't as great as they have been in the past (more kids not knowing what they were doing). madelyn loved it though and thought the show was great.

we love the confidence stage acting has given her and how it has given her so many opportunities to work on memorization.

at last this long, fun, day is complete. love.

she made the talent show!

madelyn told me that she would find out about her talent show audition today and would either get off the bus sad or excited. her face says it all! love.

show time - the grace giver secret

madelyn and her buddy, braxton, had the leads in their stage acting class' performance piece. (braxton was not feeling having his picture taken tonight.) how lovely is our girl? she is just beaming because she LOVES performing.

she has an amazing memory and picked up, not only her lines, but the entire play just from class. she didn't even have to work on it at home! we are clearly going to have to work on not mouthing everyone else's lines or stage directing too much. when i asked her about it she told me that braxton asked for her to help him remember his lines and that was why she was saying them with him.

we are so very proud of her - for who she is. love.

dress rehearsal

madelyn is so excited because it is almost showtime! she has two parts in this production including one of the leads - which means a wardrobe change (one of the kids dropped out and the teacher her gave their role to madelyn).

i wasn't able to be in the room, but the audio was on in the hallway where i waited so i could listen. she did a great job and we are so excited to come back tomorrow and see the show. love.

cheap seats

an acting group from malone university came to perform a skit about jonah and the whale for madelyn's stage acting class tonight. we were invited to sit inside the room and watch, but i wasn't sure that all three boys could remain still and quiet for an hour (mainly manning) so we waited outside like normal.

we could hear almost the whole performance and they were drawn to it. they watched about half of it through this side window. i think we will go inside if there is a next time. love.

shopping sillies

our state was having their first ever 'tax-free weekend' for back-to-school supplies so we decided to go check out new sneakers for all of the kids. they can have fun anywhere. love.

2nd grade musical

today, madelyn and the rest of the second grade wore t-shirts today to promote their musical. she is SO excited. love.
