the memory champion

we have several sets of memory but the kids have never wanted to play. manning was sleeping and maddux decided that we should give it a try.

his initial impression was that it was way too hard, but then he actually played. he was amazing! i don't even know how he remembered half of the pairs he found. he thought every miss i had was hysterical.

i did manage to come back for a tie and then we played another version we have and i beat him by one. but it wasn't like i wasn't trying to beat him! he did really, really well. i loved having some rare one on one time with this guy. love.

jesus prom

the boys and i had a delightful surprise when we arrived at church on friday afternoon for some more setting up before sunday - a life-sized candyland board game! the church was getting set up for our "jesus prom" (a special needs prom). it was truly magical. i should have taken more pictures but i was so terrified the boys would wreck something in their excitement. there were board pieces taped all through the halls that i was trying to keep them from stepping on and so much more to take in beyond this point where i wouldn't let them cross.

i can't wait to see pictures and video of all the guests' faces as they arrive! i will post if i can. love.
