first the kids decorated bunny bags to collect their eggs in. mason made his really colorful while maddux opted for more of just a black smiley face.
the 'hunt' started outside where there were eggs largely scattered on the ground. manning wasn't really sure about what to do at first. maddux came over to show him how to put eggs in his basket. once he figured out what was going on, he did manage to get a few before the older kids got to them. after he had some, he was content to just open them up and eat the candy without hunting any more.
and then they took the kids inside to explore inside the church. i think mason was the most enthusiastic 'hunter' of our crew. it was a good thing that he has such a large basket! he made up for the, relatively, low number manning ended up finding.
the church saves the eggs for next year and have the kids empty them once the hunt is over. we had some of the youth group help us because we had so many for just me and the boys to finish.
we had to duck out early, so they took a few group pictures with miss r. before we left. miss r. runs the youth ministry in addition to teaching at the preschool. unfortunately, for us, she took a position with cru (campus crusade for Christ) and stepped down from the preschool.
these are all of the kids from the preschool, we noticed that they were all boys! the boy in the blue shirt (entwined with his little brother) is mason's best friend from school. |
then we rushed off to a pampered chef party at the house of one of my closest friends here. she, graciously, invited the boys too. i haven't been to a pampered chef party in ages and had a really great time! another lovely saturday morning. love.

Nice picture of you and Manning. I really like his basket. Egg hunts are always fun and exciting!
