vbs wrap-up

the kids did another vbs week.  this time it was at the church where they attend preschool.

the first night i was going to go to the gym while the three bigs attended (manning would go into childcare).  but then maddux fell asleep within the first 10 minutes (during the super loud praise and worship) and they couldn't wake him up after trying for 30 minutes and i was asked to come pick him up.

the next night i was able to go to the gym to swim.  wednesday i ran some errands for mops crafts.  thursday i just enjoyed some alone time with manning and friday night matt and i went on a "date" with  our third wheel, manning.  now when i say "date" i mean that we went to chick-fil-a and target.  it was still special because we get so little time alone and i love any time we get to hold each other's hand these days.  i can thank one of the other moms for mentioning that date nights during vbs week.  she said that they save so that they can eat out every single night.  next year.

for the last night they ask the parents to come in and join the closing worship.  at the end of worship each night, they tell the kids how many of the school supply of the night they collected to donate (pencils, tissues, crayons, glue, scissors).  tonight they did all of the totals and manning was very impressed by the totals.

the kids had a great week and looked forward to coming every night.  they loved the music and the craft each night was the snack (like assembling a palm tree out of a banana, apple slices and smarties) which was a huge hit with all three.

thankful to have churches who love kids enough to put on vbs.  love.
