marti gras birthday party

one of mason's classmates had a marti gras birthday party and he was totally intrigued about what that might mean. the kids were all asked to wear green, purple and/or yellow. mason wore his green shirt with yellow writing and even wore his purple ninja turtle socks!

the mother had arranged for the girl's dance instructors to come teach the kids some line dances. it turned out to be a great idea. even the boys were pretty excited to try it.

instead of a traditional birthday cake, her mom had made a pair of king cakes - complete with babies inside! the kids were blown away! such a fun party. one of mason's classmates even got me to get up and dance with him.

the kids were so excited to be together that they didn't want to go home. we had to drag them each away. it is great that they have such a close class (his teacher commented during the parent/teacher conference that they were a really great group of kids - one of her best). love.
