tonight is the much anticipated daddy and daughter dance with the church. madelyn was very excited about getting dressed up and having a night out with daddy. yesterday, i went to target and bought her this dress that we had seen last week so that she would have something new and special. i had hung it in her closet with her other special occasion dresses - she didn't even notice that it was new when she found it! then she felt back that she didn't notice. once she was all dressed in her pink, she felt quiet lovely - like a princess. i think that the curls helped too. she loves to have her hair curled for special occasions (otherwise she is opposed to even brushing it).
they (of course) were running late so we quickly snapped a few pictures. i wish that i had thought to have matt come down to her level so that i could get a better picture of their faces and excitement.
matt was nice enough to send me a few pictures of their night together.

deciding that dancing might not be for her. |
daddy and madelyn decided that dancing was not for them so matt asked what she wanted to do instead. she said "painting" so he took her to paint some pottery! she was so excited to paint the last unicorn they had.
madelyn thought that this was the perfect night out with daddy. i think he enjoyed it too (well, except for the dancing and kid friendly dinner). love.

She looks like she feels lovely and princess-like. How sweet that instead of just going home, they found another daddy- daughter date activity. Was the dance free?
