main street festival

after dinner we went up to the main street festival. we would have walked but got a little later of a start than we had planned and didn't want to walk home in the dark. matt has taken the kids before, but this was the first time i have been able to go. it is a sort of street fair with local businesses, food carts/booths, a few rides and live entertainment. we walked the length of the festival (a few blocks), ran into and chatted with a few friends and then let the kids each pick a 'treat' to enjoy. maddux chose cheese pizza, madelyn and mason went with cupcakes and manning had a peanut butter brownie. once we were finished with the treats, we went over to listen to the beatles cover band who had started playing nearby where we were sitting. the kids were feeling it and broke into dance - mainly manning. that kid just loves to bust a move.

on our way out we took pictures with the kids' favorite cars from the corvette show. of course, maddux was taken with all of the orange ones.

this was the perfect end to this lovely day. matt let me go to the grocery stores on my own (which was bliss) and then we had played outside in the comfortable weather. there isn't much i like more than an outdoor event on a lovely evening. love!
