pinewood derby

mason noticed signs around the ymca with racecars on them and had to ask about it every time we passed one. so i spoke with matt and we signed him up for the pinewood derby. and then matt took a look at the block of wood the ymca provided with our fee and wondered what he had gotten himself into...
mason could not have been more excited. (poor kid cannot keep his eyes open when there is a flash.) madelyn drew out several designs for him and they worked out a blue car with lightening bolts on the side. we also added his name to the bumper and some numbers "1" on the top and sides. daddy then watched some tutorials on how to get some speed and added weights (trying not to cover up our paint job).
mason came home with a 2nd place ribbon for his age division and was very pleased. we aren't so sure that we will do it again, but it was fun today. mason loved seeing all of the different designs and could almost remember every single finish. love.
