thor at cosi

we made the drive over to cosi for a day of science fun and the bonus of a meet-and-greet with 'thor'! maddux thought it was pretty cool to see thor but would not even go up on the stage with us to meet him.

cosi was on our summer bucket list and we had to go before our museum pass expires this month, so that it would be free.
i love the many upcycled butterflies decorating the walls.

and the wire skeleton is so much more amazing in person than i can capture.

we were just in time to see 'rat basketball'
and manning was done. like done, done. little did we know laying on the floor was going to be his 'thing' for the day. he fell asleep almost the second after i picked him up.

spying on madelyn in the 'big kid' room.
our super, super heroes taking advantage of the costumes.

the boys thought that these jellybean bears were pretty impressive.

manning kept putting his whole face on this giant magnifying glass to look at the bugs.

they are racing on a virtual map to get to the grocery store on bike and on foot before a car driving there.
i got to 'drive' with mason and manning. it was pretty funny because they are used to video game extreme driving where the point of this game was to obey the traffic rules and speed limits for safety and fuel efficiency.

to matt and my surprise, madelyn wanted to try the higher unicycle! the line was a little long so the boys and i kept busy at some of the surrounding exhibits while matt waited in line with madelyn.

manning decided that he needed to lay down again.

for some reason, mason was terrified to get into this little rocket simulator, so i rode with him and then he was hooked.

manning laying down again...

...just without the tears.
and now it was madelyn's turn!

she did SO amazing! i thought for sure she would cry. she did grow very pale when she got 'stuck,' but she didn't panic and even says she would want to try again - next year!

we had such a great family day. love.
