the forecast was not that great for big pop and grandma's visit but new year's day looked like we might be without temperatures that would be too extreme and mostly dry so we headed out for a walk.it is a mile and a half walk to a shopping center where we could have lunch. only the restaurant wasn't open so we had lunch at wendy's instead. it was very busy because it was one of the only places open.
after lunch we walked over to starbucks for warm beverages for our walk back home. and then it started pouring! it was very cold and very windy. matt ran all the way home to get the van and pick us up while we tried to huddle by a bank. realizing that this was crazy because we were cold and wet - we went back into wendy's to wait for matt. we felt so bad for him, especially when it stopped raining around the time he might have made it back to the house. we would have had a rough walk with the wind by the time it stopped raining anyway so we were very happy to see matt with the van.
before it got messy out, we had a nice walk with just a few drizzles. here are a few pictures.

It was a wonderful walk and we enjoyed every minute of it. Can't wait to do it in the summer!!!
The bridge over the creek looks so pretty- I imagine most beautiful in the fall. What a fun trail for other seasons. That picture with your parents is priceless. I can't believe
