the stocking dilemma

so every single year since madelyn was born, matt and i talk about the stockings.  when we were first married we bought two stockings and a matching tree skirt. when madelyn was born we let her use one.  when mason was born they got both stockings.  when maddux was born we used our two stockings for madelyn and mason.  and the next year maddux was still too young to notice that he didn't have a stocking, so he didn't.  and now here we are with four kids and two stockings.  we have to do something this year.

the problem is that matt is too cheap and i am too picky.  we really wanted to find stockings that matched our current set.  i even tried to buy some fabric to make them this year but had no luck.  my parents offered to buy them as our christmas present but i can't find any i like. (so please no one buy us any!!)

we have even talked about just letting the kids pick out what they want, but could not come up with what we were going to do.  and now we are too close to christmas and i am feeling the panic.

so when the boys and i had to stop by the dollar store for some mops supplies, i decided to just buy two plain stockings for manning and madelyn (we really only have stocking items for the two big boys this year). but the amazing this was this - mason can read the word "joy".  he really, really wanted a "joy" stocking.  sweet!  and then maddux got excited and really wanted a christmas tree one.  double score!

so we are covered for this year!  and i have a whole year to figure out what to do next christmas...  love.

You probably don't have time but you might get some good deals now on stocking if you want to buy them. I saw some cute ones at Michael's this week on sale.
