early morning chess?

we had asked the kids to let us sleep in this morning. i put out some 'special' breakfast (aka pop-tarts) and told them that they could eat downstairs while watching a movie. so i was a little annoyed to hear them playing loudly at the kitchen table. until i came out and found this:

madelyn and mason were teaching maddux and manning how to play chess. how could i be mad about that? (they were loud because there was some disagreement over strategy.) love.
