wild about art

super fun animal arts and activities put on my a local art museum in partnership with the zoo and humane society. our kids love a good craft and i love a free event (and matt loves us). i think it helped convince matt to go with us since it was raining and there weren't a lot of other options.
we had barely gotten inside when the kids found a craft - animal puppets - of course manning made a puppy. and then got face painted like a puppy!

think 'rock-paper-scissors'

a wild round of elephant-monkey-bird

the kids got to invent their own creatures
we also spent some time with the actual art exhibits too. they had a scavenger hunt for the kids finding animals through the different works.

the kids were pretty excited to get a remade animal mask. mason wanted a panda but had to settle for another black and while animal.

our last stop of the afternoon was an acting workshop. the kids loved getting to do some acting exercises before listening to a story. they ended the workshop with a group story (where everyone adds one sentence to keep the story going). it was pretty cute. (and will be great for road trips!)

i didn't get a great shot of manning's face but he was in heaven!
i love these great events. love.
