quick visit with nana and great grandma r.

last night we met nana and great grandma r. for dinner at chick-fil-a.  nana drove great grandma over from indiana for a quick visit and they got in early enough for us to meet up.  after the meal we said good night and looked forward to spending today with them.

we met them at their hotel before church so that they could follow us over.  after church we took them out to brunch at a ww2 themed restaurant near the airport.  you could watch plane take off and land while enjoying your meal.  the idea with brunch was that the kids would be able to visit without being distracted with their toys at home (great grandma wouldn't be able to go downstairs with them).  madelyn was excited about brunch because she got 'brunch barbie' from one of her friends for her birthday.  on our way home she told us that her barbie makes a much better brunch (although she really did enjoy brunch at the restaurant).

here is a group picture of the kids with nana and great grandma (nana's mom).
and matt with his grandma and manning.
we ordered pizza for dinner (thanks, nana!) and then had peach cream pie from indiana with ice cream for desert. before they left madelyn and mason had to show off their new bikes.

it was a nice visit and it seemed like they enjoyed their time with the kids.  their visit sure wore matt and manning out...  love.

So great the kids got to spend time with a grandma and a GREAT grandma. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a day with all the variables to consider. :)
