swimming with mommy

i was planning on swimming a lot with the kids this summer - only i forgot that i am not supposed to swim for the first six weeks after baby.  i decided that we would give it a try because it has been hot and the kids really, really wanted to go.  i just sat on the edge of the pool (in a suit in case they needed me).  and we could always stay in the kiddie pool (max depth 1-1/2 feet) - and we did spend some time in there while maddux got use to his flotation vest. but they did so great in the big pool and we will have to do this again!

here are our little water babies in the pool.  madelyn doesn't really need the float vest, but i told her that she has to wear it when i have them at the pool by myself.

i was so proud of maddux because this was only this second time with the float vest and his first time without someone to hold onto in the pool (i did get in with him for a few minutes when we first got there to make sure he was comfortable in the water).  here are a few videos of the kids 'swimming'.  we had the whole pool to ourselves.

it is so nice to live where there is pool access.  it will be even more fun as they get older and stronger at swimming.  love.
