i spoke too soon...

so i may have spoken too soon about the high temperature illness.  when we picked manning up from the church nursery yesterday they said he had not been himself and had started to get warm about 20 minutes before we got there.  he was most definitely ill.

he waited until we got home, but i ended up covered in vomit and had to shower off while holding him and still wearing my dress.  it was gross.  he was very happy to get dried off and into his crib.

and maddux didn't look so great either.  when we saw him during story time (we are in different classes by request but we see him during the bible story) he was almost crying and saying that he wanted to go home - a sure sign that he is either tired or sick.  and then last night his fever was back.  that made three nights for him.  matt and i discussed it and decided that if he was still running a fever in the morning i would try to get him in with the doctor today.  on top of having a fever for most of the past three days, he has also had a cough and thick, runny nose for almost a month now.

he wasn't super hot, 99.8, but i still called to try and get him in.  they said that they could see us in 20 minutes so we kicked it into high gear to get out the door.

the doctor thinks that he is in the early stages of pneumonia and put him on antibiotics.  she didn't think a chest x-ray was necessary at this point, but if he isn't better by wednesday we need to take him back in and he will get x-rays. she also said that his fever should jump again today but should be gone by wednesday too.

sigh.

still this isn't the worst we have faced and he looks much worse than he feels.  as long as he has a dose of motrin he is in great spirits.  love.

Aw. Poor guys. I hope you're all able to get healthy soon. Isn't it crazy how the same bug affects people differently?

it is crazy! it also makes it difficult to tell if it is a new bug or the same one just to a new person...
