our favorite local toystore has moved to a new larger location. mason asks to go almost every day and could spend hours there! we went to check it out a few weeks ago when they first opened their doors, but today was their grand opening so we knew that we needed to at least stop by and check it out. (when we were in before, they were still stocking shelves and unpacking boxes from their move.) the kids ran into some friends as soon as we got inside and were enjoying a hands-on section of toys near the registers.
but when mason, maddux and daddy went back to check out the lego/train display in the back of the store - we discovered free crafts! this was such an unexpected bonus!

delighted to be painting a horse. |
while madelyn painted her horse, the boys got to decorate pull back cars with racing stickers. |
manning ran out of room for stickers before he stopped. |
then the boys went to paint horses and madelyn went to make a pink tote. |
the crafts and coloring samples were courtesy of creativity for kids and faber-castell and the horses were provided by breyer. as if we needed another reason to love sir troy's toy kingdom! such a wonderful surprise. and even with all of this, mason still spent a good portion of our time there looking at all of the legos and we had to drag him protesting out of the store. love.
