boys'/girls' night

daddy had four tickets to the rubber ducks game tonight, so that meant a "boys' night" at the ballpark.

the flash was too much, but i love their similar poses.

maddux did not want to be in the picture with everyone after i took a few while he was tying his shoes. he wanted one on his own. he is the only one of the kids who can get a hold of his emotions on demand. he really, really wanted a nice picture by himself.

and then he made up with daddy and we got a few better pictures.

and they were off to a double-header with fireworks. good luck with that, daddy. whew.

madelyn and i had originally planned on going out to dinner on our girls' night but we had to eat dinner at home to finish off some food that wasn't going to keep while we were out of town for a few days. so instead we went shopping.

and some menchies.

we might have had a nice evening out together, but the boys really had a great time (and had ice cream too).

those were some happy and tired boys who came dragging in around 11:30pm! this weekend should be interesting. love.
