the church who runs the baseball league hosts an end of season celebration for each division. maddux went first with t-ball. the church provides pizza and soda/water and all of the families brought sides and desserts - there was a ridiculous amount of food. and i think our kids ate more than their fair share! i asked them to pace themselves since we had to do it all again for mason in just an hour.
each team was given t-ball medals. maddux went up with his team still eating and with food all over his face. sigh.
look how proud he is! |
and then he had some more desserts, including an orange cupcake to add to his face collection.
and then they called up all of the t-ball players who had practiced and memorized the six bible verses for the season to award them with a backpack.
all the t-ballers left, they threw away all of the food (after begging for the departing families to take some with them) and put out a fresh delivery of pizzas for the coach pitch teams.
mason's team was the first one called up for their trophies.
happy boy (with a stinker in the background) |
mason memorized all of his verses for the season too. |
the kids were all happy, very full, and sugared up when we left. we are thankful for such a wonderful league to learn about baseball and God. love.
