it's that time of year again...

i gave the kids a toy catalog from bjs wholesale club after church to look through.  they like looking at toys in circulars - imagine that.  it is a different experience with madelyn so prolific in reading and writing now because she was telling them about the toys and then taking notes on who wanted it and how many.  yes, there was much discussion about quantities.  that was really my favorite part and i should have taken video.  they were discussing what they already had, who still needed one and if mason and maddux could share or if they each needed their own.

we are already being asked by the grandparents for some christmas gift ideas but matt and i have no idea what we are going to get the kids! we like to at least get first dibs before the flood of gifts begins.  this year is going to be one of the hardest yet because the kids don't really have anything that they are 'into' right now (it helps that they watch almost no t.v. so see no commercials).  our kids are seriously as excited about new socks as they are about a new toy.  they have even asked to take new socks downstairs to play with before!

i think they even enjoy looking at pictures of toys more than actually receiving them...  love.
