i think i mentioned that madelyn was scheduled to be "star student" the week before christmas break, but her teacher forgot and gave us the choice of waiting until after break. i had more than enough on my plate so we opted for the short, 2-day week starting today. yesterday madelyn worked very hard on getting her poster together, her bag of items to share and we went to the store to pick up a class snack. (might i add that it is next to impossible to find a prepackaged, nut-free, 'healthy' snack. we ended up with process 'cheese' spread and cracker packs. i was not thrilled with the selection.)
here is what the paper in the center from her teacher says:

madelyn was so cute "practicing" (there were instructions to have her practice at home). it was only after she completed telling everything to me for the second time (after telling each of her brothers independently) that i thought of getting a video of her presentation. she has agreed to allow me to take a video after she brings everything back home from school.
but then the disappointment. her teacher forgot again! she was not able to present today. poor kid. at least she has not been upset by the changes - she is just thrilled to present and have her sign hung in the classroom.

SO do you have to do another snack? Your Winter break seems short - is that because you'll likely have snow days? Our kids were off for 12 school days (plus weekends).
I love that Madelyn practiced.
Hope she gets another chance. It seems she got robbed again due to the cold. Anyway, she looks very happy and proud.
