where did your nails go?!

i need to take a picture of maddux' hands, but i worry about the squeamish. he has bitten his nails to the point where there are fingers that almost don't have a visible nail left. he doesn't mind the 'yucky' nail polish any more (it used to make him cry) so i have decided to try medical tape. (the rate at which he is going through band-aids for the fingers that bleed isn't working out.)

it isn't going well. i need to find some that sticks better than this waterproof version that i bought to try. he cries about how much his fingers hurt when he bites them, but he keeps at it. it hurts me just to look at his hands. madelyn bites her nails off and on, but she never got this bad. it isn't something the does except when he is bored. it doesn't seem to be stress related at all. we will see how it goes. love.
