family fun day

we stopped by a family fun fest at the church where we go to playland. we did not prepare for how warm and beautiful it was going to be and failed to bring sunscreen and water. unfortunately, that meant that we weren't able to stay very long, but we had a great time while we were there! manning got to go on his first inflatable and i think he would have been fine if he didn't do anything else the whole day. i did here some older kids starting to complain that the surface was starting to get too hot from the sun.

while manning was bouncing around, the bigger kids went to take a few turns on the giant slide (manning was too short). i love the mid-air pictures matt captured.

madelyn was the only taker on "tie-dyed" hair spray and was very pleased with the results.

mason and maddux took a few turns at the baseball tee.

and pretty much the downward spiral in our visit was the massive disappointment to maddux that he was not tall enough to do this bungee run with madelyn. he never managed to recover from the hysterics.

madelyn enjoyed watching the entertainment. madelyn said that they looked like flowers.

manning was much happier once he got some popcorn. it was a very nice community event. we didn't even get over to the car show part.

after this we had to head over to the grocery store to redeem the birthday coupons the kids got from the childcare part. and it was pretty great. each of the kids were able to pick a small gift (madelyn picked a stuffed rose and mason picked a water gun) and then we were sent over to the bakery for a complementary cupcake. it was another difficult day for maddux. this poor kid has really had a hard time at being the only one without a birthday in june. we are going to really have to lay it on thick come november! love.
