our grocery store has a "birthday celebration" on the second saturday of the month and the kids get an invitation near their birthdays. we weren't able to go in november so we went over this weekend to pick up maddux' gift (a finger football set - you don't have to fold up paper anymore - and a logo-ed water bottle that sent mason into hysterics because he didn't get one on his birthday - it was at the end of a long day of errands) and a free cupcake from the bakery. much to maddux' delight, they had an orange one with a candle! unfortunately, he had some behavior issues that kept him from enjoying it until today. but it still was tasty! or so i heard from him and his siblings. he generously shared with them. love.
