daddy took jackets for both kids anyway because it was 45 degrees and falling when they headed out in the wagon. it occurred to me that i have never taken the kids trick-or-treating, maybe next year i will let matt stay home. poor guy; i stayed home and watched the end of the chargers game while he headed out with the kids.
matt wasn't able to get any pictures or video this year but he did report that by the end mason was getting out of the wagon faster than madelyn and heading for the front door to claim his 'treat'. we haven't let him eat anything more than animal cookies but he doesn't seem to mind. he just had fun seeing that people would give him things to put in his pumpkin.
we only got one large bag of candy at sams because we always have lots left over. not this year! we had a ton of trick-or-treaters and i was afraid that i was going to run out of candy. i think we had 6 tootsie rolls left at the end of the night.
i normally do the pumpkin carving but didn't feel like i could handle doing so this year - at least not comfortably. instead i took madelyn to a pumpkin decorating event at michael's craft store. i just had to buy the pumpkin for $5 and they took care of the rest. madelyn had wanted it to be glittery but the girl doing the craft had her hands full with two sisters who were extremely demanding. in the end madelyn was very pleased with her 'bat' pumpkin. apparently the purple dot on the forehead is another eye. i didn't make her stop painting either, that is just all she wanted to do. i think that her favorite part was hot gluing the feathers on the top because that is what she told daddy about first when she showed it to him.
and that was our halloween in a nutshell. love.

I like the painted pumpkin- neat idea. 45 degrees!? Wowza! And the ticker is at 4 days!!!
Love the pimpkin and love Maddie and Mason! Maddie has such an excited look on her face. Mason looks like he thinks something good might be happening but not sure. Love them!
