the early game

madelyn had the first game of the day 8:30am.  of course the kids all slept late and we had to wake the up.  matt and i were just off our game too and we kept thinking the other one was doing something that wasn't getting done.  it did not help at all that of the five pairs of soccer socks we now own - we could only find 5.  like five socks.  two of madelyn's pairs and one, as in single sock, of mason's.  seriously, it was making me crazy.  everything was clean too.  there was no laundry where it could be.  so instead he wore a pair of matt's old baseball socks (blue and yellow striped - which matched perfectly!).

in all of the chaos, i forgot the camera but i thought to use my phone by the time mason's game started.  which was his very first soccer game, by the way!  i don't think that he ever stopped smiling.  he was a little all over the place but he was very, very happy to be there.

we also forgot to bring chairs (another communication confusion between matt and i) but manning came up with his own seating and he was quite pleased with himself.

we were so proud of madelyn.  she was still not feeling well this morning and had a slight fever so we gave her the option of staying home and she wanted to still go play and did her best.  she was a little off but kept a great attitude the whole time.

since i didn't have my regular camera, i couldn't get a picture of the super cool 'minion' blimp that was flying past the field this morning during mason's game (from the despicable me movie).

another week down.  it was nice to have the early games back to back.  even if it was a little challenging to get there.  love.
