lunch with daddy

madelyn didn't have school today, but the boys did.  while they were at school, madelyn and i packed up a lunch.  after getting the boys, we went to pick up daddy (the first surprise) and then we went to the zoo for lunch (the second surprise).

the kids have been begging to take daddy to see the new exhibit at the zoo so daddy worked his schedule out so that he could go.  we had to move along fairly quickly, but it was such a great time and everyone was happy to have gotten to go together.

the kids are really excited about the upcoming "boo at the zoo" and had to take another picture.  (we had to drag them away as we were leaving because they wanted pictures in each of the holes.)  maddux even made up a "boo at the zoo" song that he sang throughout the zoo.

it was forecast to be a rainy day so we were super thankful that the rain held out because a chance to get us all together for lunch on a weekday during the school year is next to impossible.  love.
