elephants, piggie and pigeon too!

the kids just love the free programs put on by the public library.  today's program was themed around some of the books by mo willems.  first the kids were read a few books and then let loose to play games and make crafts.  each child was able to leave with an 'elephant' paper bag puppet, a 'pigeon' handprint picture and was given a felt 'piggie' finger puppet.  besides everything being super cute, the kids were happy to be able to go home and act out the books we had checked out.

since we didn't really have much else going on today, i suggested that matt and manning come too (manning isn't old enough to be registered to attend, it was for ages 2-6, right in our sweet spot).  we are getting braver and have not been bringing a stroller with us.  manning did get fidgety and have to go into the hallway a little bit during the reading portion, but all and all a stroller-less success.

the kids had fun putting on the pig and elephant noses and posing for pictures.  the nose 'masks' got a little too close to their eyes to be comfortable for long.

it is amazing how much they pack into just 30 minutes!  love.
