trick or treat

here is our halloween picture of ariel and her pal flounder (aka madelyn and mason) together at last! mason didn't go out trick or treating because it was pretty cold out but we got him dressed up for the photo opp. (on a side note, red eye correctors can not handle madelyn's red wig being so close to her eye.)

trick or treating was from 5:00 - 7:30 here so when she woke up from her nap around 4:30 we had the mad dash to get her fed, pottied, dressed, and out the door. she was too excited to eat dinner and it was difficult to get her to go potty first too. she posed very nicely for the pictures on the couch with mason, but once she was outside where she could hear and see the other kids there was no way to get her to sit next to her ariel jack-o-lantern for another picture.

madelyn and daddy went out trick or treating while mason and i stayed home to hand out candy. since madelyn was such a big girl this year she got to walk the whole time instead of riding in her wagon.

once they got back from trick or treating, i got madelyn out of her costume, mason wrapped up, and we headed to a friend's house for a post-candy, sugar-burning playdate. (this was mason's first time facing forward in the wrap.) when madelyn saw mason wrapped up she ran to pick a scarf to wrap up her toy turtle and a little stuffed dog. once she had her friends wrapped up on her chest we were ready to go.

we had a nice time and madelyn enjoyed running around with her friends and staying up until almost 10:00pm. mason and i had to leave much earlier because mason was getting really tired so we left daddy and madelyn there to enjoy the playdate/party. all in all a wonderful halloween! love.
