Oh my gosh, I just love your choices. If we ever build a house, we will definitely consult with you. I think all the wood work is my favorite. Especially around windows. How do you do 'curtains' for that? so as not to hide them? Colors are great. Everything looks so clean. Fireplace is gorgeous. Will TV go above it? (I saw an outlet). Kids' bathroom looks LONG - you said closets were across from sink, right? Their rooms are so big! You guys aren't going to know what to do with all that space after being in the apartment. Locker room is cool - what do you plan to put in there? Only a couple more months!
Thank you again. We are really happy with how everything is looking. Yeah, we didn't really think about how we would cover the windows when we discussed the trim work and window coverings are a must for me. I don't like people being able to see in the windows at night (or sometimes during the day). We did find some inside mount blinds that would work there and are very happy about that! And, yes, the TV will go above the fireplace. That was one thing we wished we had done in our last house because it makes furniture arranging much easier to only have one focal point. Yes, closets are across from the sinks. The locker room is sort of like a mud room, just somewhere to remove shoes and drop (hang up) bags and coats. We will probably put a magnet board and key hooks in there too. Lockers are really, really common here, but the "room" thing was something I wanted instead of just having them in the laundry room or hallway.
Not only will we have dramatically more space, we will have windows (there is only natural light coming from the front door of the main space in the apartment - we have to go to a bedroom to see without a light during the day), ample lighting and not to mention all of our belongings! We can not wait!
