exciting morning at the house! we met with the concrete guy (and his new wife - very cute amish couple), the landscaper (another very nice guy), the exterior stone installers and the closet shelving guy. plus, there was lots of new things to see! matt stopped by thrusday night after golf because he just can't stand being that close and not stopping by so he had already seen some of it. our builder, mr. todd, was so great to 'babysit' while we had all of our meetings.
we are so happy with how everything is turning out! we do have a few concerns about the stone, but they are going to fix it this week. here are pictures from today.

if you enlarge this, you might be able to see the orange spray paint for the outline. we are putting a planting bed to the right of the one car garage to break up the concrete a little. |
the stone is much more orange than the large sample we saw at the store. we thought that it would be much more grey so they are going to 'pop-off' some of the orange pieces and replace them with grey. i think they are so willing to do this because they didn't put the window details we ordered on (not that we are adding them now, we like how it looks) and they used the wrong font for our house numbers - they are fixing the house numbers too. |

we went with dark grey for the front door instead of red. it just looked better with the overall house. i thought madelyn would be disappointed but she just said, "hey, i thought the door was going to be red." and that was it. no bid deal. she even said that she liked the grey. |
i love the light in the dinette in the morning! it is going to be a great place to start the day. we also loved the woodwork all painted out in white. they still need to put our accent dark grey on the fireplace section. |
another look at the dinette wood work and wall paint. it is a blue/green color on the walls as opposed to the light grey in the great room. |
master bath tile floor. they had to get a different tub. i didn't catch why. |
most of the tile in our doorless shower. |
garage door on left, laundry straight ahead, locker room on right. |
kids hallway in medium grey and great room light grey. |
stain on post cap and hand rail. again, we love! |
medium grey in office. |
we

I want to move in, too! Can't wait to see the final pics (staging and when you move in). Amazed Madelyn was ok with no red door. Lots of greys in the house - very modern and clean looking. I like it. The wood work is beautiful. And lots of natural light from windows. I know in WI you had lots of window coverings -planning on that here, too? (for night time). Great sliders from dinette out to what appears to be a deck. Didn't see any kitchen pictures this week, but I bet that's gorgeous as well.
