some how we are two hours from an ikea again. since we are planning on moving maddux into a twin bed after grandma leaves, we thought that we might take advantage of not having to take the kids with us and make a trip to ikea. without the kids, we can remove the carseats from the van and get everything home much easier. plus, matt and i would get a few hours with just the two of us.
we were planning on buying a new bed, dresser and bookshelf for the kids' rooms but worked through some other ideas on the drive and ended up getting patio furniture for the deck and some other miscellaneous items we had seen on past trips; including the picture shelf and hanging line seen below. the picture shelf was something we took a picture of the last time we went to ikea and i was very excited to get it. it will be fun to have an easy way to display the kids' artwork from now on.

This addition really warmed up the room and the kids are so proud to hang their drawings.
great meal time conversation piece. I can imagine how excited they are to tell daddy about them. with 4 kids, you're going to need a longer wire :)
