goooooooaaaaaal!

the team was looking more alert than normal today. maybe it was having a later game time. madelyn came with a good attitude and was full of hustle. and it paid off for her because she made her first goal!

scoring a goal has been discussed (by her) every week. based on how disappointed she is every time she doesn't score a goal, her excitement over scoring a goal was minimal. she sort of looked a little shocked even though she had taken it down the field before scoring.

right after the game madelyn had to call both sets of grandparents to share her big news. she was more excited after the game than she was in the moment. and her pleasure has just built as the day has gone by.

she did bump heads with someone on the other team and then got knocked down while she was still playing. even though she was hurt and crying she kept playing until the whistle blew. i was so proud of her for hanging tough until play stopped. love.
