pool lunch

the pool is open!  unfortunately it got pretty cool right after it opened so we had not been able to go in about a week.  we had a play date last week which was fun.  today was my first time taking all of the kids truly by myself.  it occurred to me that i won't be able to go into the pool for at least a month after the baby is born so i should get the kids out there one more time.

we ran a few errands, picked up lunch and headed to the pool for a picnic and swim.  we were pleasantly surprised to find some neighborhood friends already there on a play date.  after lunch we joined them in the pool.

this was the first time this year that the kids had used their flotation devices.  i was very pleased at how madelyn and mason did with theirs!  maddux would not even attempt the 'ring' that he used last year.  i think we are going to have to get him one like his sister and brother.  it didn't help that the water was freezing!  i didn't want to get in it was so cold.  madelyn's teeth were chattering but i had trouble getting her out!  both she and mason were 'swimming' all over the pool and having a great time.  it was really nice to see them so confident in the water.  i think that the swimming lessons helped a lot.

can't wait for more swimming fun this summer!  love.
