since everyone was showered and dressed for church, i wanted to try and get pictures of the kids with papa and nana. unfortunately, madelyn had other plans. she only wanted to be held by mommy. after a little bit of time i was able to convince her to go to daddy and we got quick picture as we were heading out the door. after church we were able to get one of maddie with nana. here are the best of the bunch:
madelyn was a delight all morning, except for the picture posing problems before church, but a different girl woke up from nap time. madelyn only wanted mommy when she woke up and it didn't go well from there. the evening ended with her getting a bath, kicking and screaming, from daddy, more kicking and screaming during teeth brushing, and then refusing to let any one but daddy read books to her. it was not the ending to her visit that nana wanted and i was sorry to see madelyn give her this kind of last impression. i have never seen her throw this bad of a fit for that amount of time! she was committed, i'll give her that.
at least she was able to give nana a nice kiss and hug good-bye this morning before she hit the road back to kansas.
mason has started to "coo" and "ah" in a lovely sing-songy way. he has a little excited laugh when he is about to eat, but now he contently coos. i think that it is mainly gas inspired, just like most of his smiles, but it is very sweet to hear. speaking of smiles, he is smiling much more consistently now and i expect to get a picture in the next few days. love.

Oh, we know all too well about the anti-picture two-year-old. My blogs have become heany with Kinley pictures because she is so much easier to take them of. Lorelai whines, refuses, turns her head or makes unflattering faces. Maybe the fit was because she had had so much fun with visitors and was exhausted... can't wait to see the smile pictures of Mason.
