nana arrived this afternoon. madelyn didn't think that she was ever going to get here and all three kids were very happy to see her. unfortunately, maddux has a pretty bad head cold (fever, runny nose, trouble eating and napping). fortunately for nana, this means that maddux is willing to be held for more than 2 seconds.
we visited for a little bit and then headed out to the library. our books were due today and i thought that it would be fun for nana to pick out some books to read with the kids while she is here.
for dinner we took nana to earth fare for family night since the kids could eat for free. today they had an exercise demonstration/program for the kids to do. mason could not wait to give it a try! madelyn wasn't so excited and said that she didn't want to do it, but once mason got up there she gave it a try.
i think that the medicine balls were what caught mason's attention - he is a sucker for a ball. he was pretty surprised when he couldn't hardly lift it! so he rolled it around instead.
the other part that was right up mason's alley was the 'jumping'. i was as if the instructor was speaking a language that mason 'spoke' too and he couldn't wait to get to it. he followed the directions and participated better than madelyn most of the time. it was cute to see him so excited about exercising. when i try to exercise at home he doesn't participate (except for running in place - when he runs all over the place). instead, he uses me as a playground! this makes me optimistic to try again.
