afternoon birthday portraits

in what i knew was not my wisest choice, i scheduled birthday portraits for the only opening in the calendar - this afternoon. my logic was that madelyn was about to cut her hair, it might be late enough that manning will nap on the way there and be great and that if it wasn't today, it would have to wait until mid-july. i almost cancelled this morning because it just seemed crazy. nope. we are going for it.

after princess camp today (where i took no pictures), we came home, had a snack and then got a shower. i got all of the clean kids dressed and we headed out.
madelyn was watching t.v., but she looked posed so i took a picture.

manning did not show any signs of napping. in fact, he was being a super silly boy. in the pictures he is helping himself to the end of the loaf of bread left from lunch.

i hate waiting for the portraits to be ready, so i snapped a few of the clean kids before we left the house.

here goes nothing!

we were, intentionally, a little early so we took a walk around the neighboring departments. we were told that there was a disney section and it did not disappoint! the kids were really excited to find this giant olaf!

manning was amazing until it was time to go into the room. he lost it! but the photographer was AMAZING and not only got him into the room but got him to smile, laugh and take some cute pictures. i will post them next week when i get the high-resolution versions. i paid for the rights to the images so i can use as i see fit! yay! love.
