tonight wasn't really a surprise because matt told the kids on tuesday that they would be coming back soon. but this time we all got to go! not only that, but daddy surprised us all with a suite! (well, he thought he had already told me, but i was surprised.) several of his management staff joined us too.
and there was food! matt said that he thought of me when ordering. there was popcorn, hummus and (amazing) chips, veggies and dip, buffalo chicken dip, spinach artichoke dip and soft pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip. and then there was dessert! seriously, i couldn't have picked food i would love more - not vegan, but amazing! i think our family ate most of it - starting from the second we walked through the door and the kids dug right into the popcorn.

manning practically bathed in the hummus and chips the size of his head! |
|
this is what i got when i asked maddux to look at me and smile. the sun was a little brutal. |
|
manning ate so much that when he started coughing on a little bit of popcorn, it became apparent that he was over capacity - all over my lap. i was cold and wet the rest of the game while manning was shortless and happy as a clam. |
i don't know how much of the game any of our family actually watched. madelyn talked non-stop to one of matt's managers (who said that she enjoyed every minute of it), manning and maddux ate and mason kept getting more and more food than he was actual eating. and then the boys made up this game to keep them busy...
|
it was the second sold-out night in a row - the place was packed. |
|
manning enjoying the game without his shorts. |

this was a game where we had numbered tennis balls to throw onto the field at the end of the game. if they landed in a hoola-hoop, you won what ever prize was on the sign next to it. |
and then there were fireworks! maddux watched from inside the suite, but the rest of us enjoyed them outside. mason said that they were the best fireworks he had ever seen. it was a great end to our night at the field. we ended up not getting the kids home until 11:30pm or so. they thought it was pretty neat when i told them that it was less than an hour to father's day. getting to church by 8:30am was going to be a little challenging. love.
