mommy fail

these are the delighted faces of my three oldest children when we got to the top of a hill on our way to a "surprise" destination. "it's the fair!" was yelled as we reached the top and i took this picture.

then we got down the hill and i noticed the rides weren't moving. and that the booths had tarps. and that there were no people. uh-oh. i quickly googled the hours on my phone. yep. doesn't open until 6am. sigh. sorry, kiddos. we are five hours too early.

the kids took it much better than i did. they decided that we could just go to the pool instead. good thing that we have other "surprise" plans for tonight! love.
