rough night

last night was a rough one. both kids went down okay (for the first time this week) and then the fun started. matt and i were both up working when mason woke up at 11:30 because he had some snot in his nose and didn't like how it felt. i fed him and put him back down. he woke up again about 15 minutes later and matt went in to burp him. mason was crying again 10 minutes after matt had left his room. i went back in to suck out his nose. he didn't even open his eyes. once i was down i burped him again and he was down.

matt and i called it a night around 2am. madelyn woke up at 3:30 and didn't go back to sleep. she felt warm so i gave her some motrin hoping that would help her sleep, but instead i kept going back and forth to her room before finally laying down with her. and that is about the time that mason woke up again around 4:30. since madelyn wasn't sleeping i brought her into our bed so that i had a even a slim chance at sleep. matt had to get up at 5:30am so he took madelyn out to watch a movie when he got up so that i could sleep a little before mason woke up.

when i got up around 7am madelyn was passed out in front of the fireplace and she stayed that way until about 11am. when she woke up she said that she was ready to go to the park! we stayed home all day instead.

she got some more motrin before bed tonight because she was still a little warm but i don't think that she is really sick. i think that it is just a side-effect from her flu shot. we'll see how she feels in the morning. love.
