we're moving now

mason is starting to take after madelyn with legs getting all tangled up in the crib bars. this was how i found him this morning and then at nap time he had rolled over and gotten his entire leg stuck outside the crib! i don't have a picture of that because he was screaming in fear/pain so i just freed him. he is getting to be quite the rolly-polly little guy and working really hard to scoot once he is on his belly.

this afternoon i returned to work, but today was the last 'warm' day for the foreseeable future so i took the kids to the zoo this morning. (today was 47 and they are calling for snow tomorrow.) it was a little cold at first, but we had a really great time. i can honestly say that mason enjoyed this trip too. he was actually turning his head back and forth watching the cheetahs pace back and forth. he also seemed to like the fish exhibits.

they were starting to get the zoo decorated for christmas and the pone smell was wonderful! i don't remember the decorations last year. madelyn and i sat down to have snacks while watching the giraffes. mainly because it is one of the warmer exhibits but i think that it being the favorite animal for three of her four grandparents might have something to do with it (we have a lot of giraffe toys). madelyn's must see list for today's visit were giraffes, hippopotamus, and penguins. the animals on the list change with every visit.

it must have been fun because both kids fell asleep in the car on the ride home. i was surprised that madelyn fell asleep. she doesn't really do this much anymore, particularly before noon! she did wake up once we got home and told me that she didn't want to take a nap. instead we ate lunch and headed down stairs so that i could get back to work with back to back meetings. madelyn waited patiently while i had two hours of meetings and mason took a nap.

madelyn must have needed a nap because when i came back upstairs to get mason she sat down on the couch and went to sleep. she changed positions a few times, but she looked so cute. her attitude stays great without a nap, but she will just sit down and fall asleep around 4pm or so sometimes. i keep waiting for her to fall asleep in her dinner some day... and you can be sure that i will take a picture! love.

Ha! can't wait to see the sleeping at dinner picture. I can't believe she just falls asleep wherever and I'm very impressed she was patient while you were in meetings. Tell her I said that :) I don't believe Mason was screaming. He's too cute and smiley. stay warm!!

PS- when i first read the title, I thought you were moving - like your family to another city/state!
