everyone was given a plastic grocery bag to carry during the tour. maddux was still waking up from his nap in the car (and in the restaurant) and it made me terribly nervous for him to be carrying something that was dragging on the ground, but he wouldn't let me help him at all.
the tour was a 'behind the scenes' look at the store. we got to walk through the kitchen, bakery, meat counter, refrigerator storage, dairy case, warehouse and offices.
mrs. bonnie was a neat lady. she has 10 children, 49 grandchildren and something like 24 great grandchildren. she was giving us tips on child rearing, grocery shopping and meal planning durning the tour.the kids (and mommy) liked the cake balls we got to sample and the cookies we got to take home for later. mason was the first of the kids to touch the lobster at the meat counter. i was so proud of him stepping forward first. he is usually a little more hang back about new things.
the outing was fun and i enjoyed my lunch. madelyn has asked to come back some time. we were all disappointed that the cake balls were not for sale. i guess they are something special for mother's day. oh well. love.
