(almost) alone with mommy

i have been running errands when i just have the two youngest boys during the week, but we have been taking it a little slower the past few days and just staying home (where i have been working and they have been playing).  i was going to take maddux to the park today for a walk and some swing set time but he wasn't feeling the best and fell asleep on the way to drop mason off.  he stayed asleep when i carried him in and when i put him back in the car and when i carried him into the house so we skipped the park.

instead, once he woke up, he helped me make some zucchini bread.  he was so happy to be the only one helping that he wouldn't even look up at the camera - he kept saying "cheese" but would not take his eyes of the mixing task he was working on.

he loves to help me count out the measurements and hold the measuring cup/spoon while i fill it before pouring it into the bowl.  he usually has to take turns with madelyn and/or mason so this was pretty special for him (and me).

while the zucchini bread was baking we read all of his favorite books.  he does all of the answering in "what's wrong, little pookie" which is super cute.

and then he did a little bonding with manning before we left to go get mason.  (isn't cute how they both have their hands clasped?)

it is nice to spend a little down time with my guy(s).  love.
