after our romantic anniversary walk, i had to jump in the shower and get ready to take mason to a birthday party for a girl in his class. i had asked grandma to help him make a card while we were on our walk (i had not had a chance to do so in the days leading up to the party). so off we went to pump it up for a few hours of fun with his friends.

mason was amazing at this throwing game! there were five floating balls that you had to knock down by throwing softball sized balls at them. he could knock them down each with a single throw. i was so impressed with him hitting these moving targets. he has always had great hand/eye coordination and judge of distance (remember this is the kid who would turn his head to miss object when he fell while learning to crawl and walk). |

he really had so much fun! |

this was a "hurricane" chamber where the winds got up to 80 miles per hour. i thought he would be scared but the birthday girl's older sister held his hand and he enjoyed the entire experience. |
this must be something new they are doing too - balloons at the bottom of the slides! the kids loved it, but i don't think the staff thinks it is so great to constantly try to keep them in and chasing them down.
i tried to get a picture of him with the birthday girl (who was turning 4), but she turned away at the last second. his pal benji is behind him in the line. the birthday girl, laura, was so incredibly sweet and seemed genuinely happy to see everyone. she greeted each guest and thanked them for coming as they arrived. when she was opening presents she would gasp with delight and immediately thank the friend who had given it to her. it was also cute to here the way she referred to most of her friends - with just the first syllable of their name! mason was "mace", abby was "ab" - i thought it was so endearing.
mason had a wonderful time and was so happy that he was able to go when we had so much to celebrate at home. love.

That place is a gold mine! Laura sounds very sweet. How wonderful that she has such manners, especially as party hostess. I don't think my girls would have been so gracious.
