birthday dinner

how could we stay at home when we had so much to celebrate?!  the kids have been begging to go back to this restaurant since we went with big pop and grandma over the summer.  we tried to go with papa, nana, john and liz, but it was closed.  madelyn had renewed her interest in going back over the past month or two so we told her we would go when grandma came this weekend.  only once we pulled into the parking lot she burst into tears because this was not the restaurant she had been talking about!

we reminded her that this was the restaurant that gave them goldfish crackers while waiting to order so she settled down.  there was a little bit of a wait and the temperature started to drop as the sun was setting so we took pictures while we waited.

they gave us the choice of sitting at two booths or waiting longer - we took the booths.  it worked out nicely (at least for matt and i) because grandma sat with the three bigs in one booth and matt and i sat with a sleeping manning in the other.  it was like a second anniversary dinner - on our anniversary!

grandma tried to talk us into the two 'free' sundaes for birthday and anniversary celebrations (grandma loves the public embarrassment), but we had whoopie pies waiting for us at home (didn't she see me slaving away making them from scratch?).  so home we went.  and it was just in time too because maddux must have touched the old man's coat at the next table while we were standing to get our coats on because we got some very dirty looks from them.  oh well.  on to happier stuff.  love.
