next on the schedule was to bake maddux' birthday cake. i decided not to make a regular cake and opted for some whoopie pies i have been meaning to make. he isn't really much of a sweets guy, so i thought these should be okay (since he doesn't have any favorite). the only problem was if they would have enough time to cool for assembly before we left for dinner. lucky for me, i had the birthday boy to help and supervise! love.
