madelyn's dance recital

tonight was madelyn's last dance class.  her teacher does a little 'show' for family and friends.  on a normal week we are not able to see her dance at all, so tonight her teacher does a sampling of the skills they have covered in class and then a little dance.  there are only three girls in this class and there must have been at least 15 people there to watch.  it was very fun.

maddux and i watching the show

madelyn showing us her favorite pose - high fifth

manning thought that it looked like fun and went to join in

not flattering, but a very 'madelyn' face.

a prettier version of high fifth (all of the girls picked it as their favorite ballet position and we got to see it three times)

these three play together every class.  benjamin, maddux and mason
the girls danced to "the codfish ball" and were dressed as mermaids (they are wearing the tutus i made).  enjoy.

after the show we took some pictures with our little ballerina.

the boys were very happy to join her on stage

the little brothers
i am so glad matt was able to join us (and not just because i had to carry mason and maddux out of the room during a disagreement they were having because they were both screaming and crying).  we just loved this class.  her teacher was like fairytale sweet and very knowledgable.  plus, the girls could wear what ever they wanted.  madelyn preferred bare-feet to shoes and that was okay.  this is very different from the other studios we have tried where there have been strict dress codes.  we will do this again if she wants to dance.  love.

The costumes are adorable and I love all the pictures. Maddie looks like she is really into doing everything that she was taught in the video. She so reminds me of you.

Great dance and costumes. I would think a small class like that might make for more nerves, more eyes watching me fear, but the three girls seemed very comfortable on the stage. I like the sounds of the teacher and her laid back approach to attire. Out of no where, Lorelai said she wants to try karate next. I told her we're all taking a break from 'extras' for a while. :)

I finally got to watch the video. Great job Madelyn! You were awesome up there on stage. It sounds like it was an awesome experience all around. Glad you had a sweet teacher. I think dance would be good for body control, balance, etc. Proud of you!!!!!
