spring!

back to the park!  one of the first signs of spring for our family. when maddux and i were running errands he commented on what a nice day it was.  i agreed and decided that it might be a great day to go to the park.  it was still pretty chilly for eating at the park (it was in the 40s) but in the sunshine it would be warm enough.  so we picked mason up, had lunch and headed on over!

i think it was good for all of us.  manning, in particular, was excited to be there.  he was laughing and kicking his legs like crazy in the stroller watching the big boys run around.  it was still a little chillier than i would have liked with the wind but the sunshine was glorious!  there were a few new items on the playground so the boys were pretty happy about that too.

maddux looks SO much like his uncle derek in this picture!

manning was hysterical in the swing.  he was both excited and terrified, in a too much stimulation kind of way.  he kept his legs tense and straight and his teeth clenched the whole time he was in the swing but he was laughing through his teeth and even snorting he was having so much fun.  i think it was the greatest reaction but it didn't capture on film - i tried.

i tried to tell him he was too big for these swings, but he still wanted to give them a go.
mason got the hang of leg pumping today too.  i need to look back to see how he was doing last year (as i am writing this i think he was swinging fine on his own) but if he did know how he had clearly forgotten over the winter!  he is still a little rusty but he will be flying high in no time.

just some more pictures of the boys enjoying the park.  it is so funny how careful mason is and how maddux tries to be 'risky' but then reconsiders because he doesn't want to get hurt.  and they both try not to go down the slide too fast by spreading their legs to the sides and holding on so that they can stop themselves at any time.

i look forward to lots more trips over the summer!  love.

Those pictures of Manning on the swing are great- holding on tight, feet straight out :) Is this park in your neighborhood or just nearby?

Yes, I was wondering what park it was too. Gary and I both agree that Maddux does look like Derek in the picture. Do you think Manning is going to be like your dad or Uncle Brad? His hands look big. They all look happy to be at the park! Nana
P.S. We are enjoying San Antonio although it has been cooler than we had planned. Today was beautiful.
