after church today they hosted a community picnic. with a special performance by "lollie" and mustardville (a puppet show). "lollie" is played by a church staff member and made an appearance during vbs. manning has told every person he has seen since vbs that "lollie" is coming to his church. the kids were SO excited!
we started with snowcones while we waited for face painting (i just love maddux' expressions in both of these pictures. they look sinister, but it was just the glaring sun).
our kids also love the children's ministry intern, anna. but early in the summer she was labelled #teamanna, so madelyn calls her "teen anna." anyway, they wouldn't let anyone but anna paint their faces and we had to wait a little longer to make it happen (i think mason did agree to go to someone else who was available).
the kids' picture with our 'time machine' was also a finalist for the #greenfamilywin photo contest.
manning wouldn't attempt the bounce house during vbs, but he found the love for it today! look at his happy face.
then we were inside for the "mustardville" show! i wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a really cute show. and, as promised, there was "lots of CANDY!!"
and a photo opp with "lollie"! love.
